Email alerts
When UptimeCard emails you about a monitor, how often at most, and where.
When you get an email
- The website is down. Sent once a failure is confirmed from several places (see How checks work).
- A short outage nobody was told about (Plus, Innovator): an email that the website was briefly down and is working again.
- Domain and SSL problems (Plus, Innovator): see Domain and SSL alerts.
- Visitors report more problems than usual on a service you follow (Plus, Innovator).
How many, at most
| Free | Plus | Innovator | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Down alerts per day | 5 per account | 15 per account | 15 per monitor |
| Addresses | 1 | 2 | 2 |
| Pause between two alerts | 10 minutes | 20 minutes | 20 minutes |
Days are counted in UTC. When the website comes back, the next outage can alert again.
A backup address
On Plus and Innovator, add a second address in Monitor settings. Choose Always on (both addresses get every alert) or Backup only (the backup is used only when the main address bounces).
If email alerts are switched off
The settings page notes: You always get an essential alert if more than 50% of our regions confirm your site is down.
No text messages
UptimeCard does not send SMS. Use email, or Slack and Discord on Plus and Innovator.
Emails that bounce
If an address bounces or marks our email as spam, we stop sending to it. Fix the address in the monitor's settings.
