Custom domains
Give your status page its own address, like status.yourdomain.com.
The addresses of a status page
| Address | Example | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| On uptimecard.com | uptimecard.com/status/yourdomain.com | Listed in UptimeCard search, with the site around it. |
| Its own subdomain | yourname.uptimecard.com | Your page on its own, without the UptimeCard menu. Every page gets one. |
| Your custom domain | status.yourdomain.com | The same page, on your own address. |
Change the uptimecard.com subdomain
In the editor's address settings. It must be 3 to 20 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, not starting or ending with a hyphen. Some names are reserved.
Connect your own domain
- 1In the editor's address settings, type the domain, for example status.yourdomain.com.
- 2The studio shows the DNS record to add at your domain provider: a CNAME for a subdomain, an A record for a root domain (yourdomain.com), and sometimes a TXT record. It has step-by-step guides for common providers.
- 3Wait until the studio shows the domain as live. DNS changes can take from minutes to a few hours.
Which custom domains also verify you
A subdomain of the page's own domain (status.yourdomain.com for a page about yourdomain.com), or that domain itself, verifies you automatically once it is live. Another domain (yourdomainstatus.com) works as an address on any plan but does not prove ownership; use another way to verify.
What your own address shows
- The page, its incident list and each incident. Other paths lead to uptimecard.com.
- Your own posts always show here, even before you verify.
- On Innovator, a section can be hidden here but shown on uptimecard.com (see Who sees a section).
