HubSpot launched CMS Hub in April as a hosted CMS with Professional and Enterprise tiers. It tied website management to the HubSpot CRM and marketing tools instead of selling it as a separate system.[1]

Developer tooling followed in May: a CMS command line tool, themes created from a boilerplate and themes in the Template Marketplace. Developers could work in their own editor and share finished themes.[11]

In August HubSpot explained that CMS assets were now represented as real files. Developers could keep them in GitHub with source control and move assets between accounts, instead of working only in an online editor.[3]
