What stands out
- Deploying DoubleClick Floodlight on a developer SaaS site signals unusually strong investment in display and search retargeting for lead generation.
- Usercentrics consent management combined with GTM-gated tags reflects strict GDPR readiness despite a primarily US-based audience.
- The split between Netlify for frontend hosting and Amazon S3 for assets suggests a decoupled architecture optimized for visual testing artifacts.
- HubSpot, Intercom, and LinkedIn Insight Tag create a tightly integrated B2B sales motion around developer onboarding.
Technologies chromatic.com uses
- AWS Certificate Manager — Provisions SSL certificates for secure AWS-hosted domains, indicating AWS infrastructure for the web property.
- Amazon S3 — Stores static assets or visual test artifacts, suggesting scalable cloud object storage for screenshots and builds.
- Linkedin Insight Tag — B2B ad pixel for LinkedIn campaign attribution.
- React — Frontend library powering the dynamic UI.
- Usercentrics — Consent management platform indicates GDPR/CCPA compliance for global traffic and privacy-conscious user data handling.
- Amazon Web Services — Core cloud infrastructure for hosting and services.

- Emotion requires React — Emotion styles React components with dynamic, scoped CSS, enabling the polished, interactive UI of the visual testing platform.
- Google Tag Manager integrates with Usercentrics — Usercentrics blocks GTM tags until consent, ensuring GDPR-compliant loading of analytics and ad scripts.
- Amazon S3 runs on Amazon Web Services — S3 runs on AWS, storing visual test artifacts and assets durably within the cloud infrastructure.
- Radix UI requires React — Radix UI provides headless, accessible interaction primitives on which the React interface builds custom components.
- Netlify runs on React — Netlify serves the React-based frontend with CDN edge caching, preview builds, and atomic deploys for fast UI.
- Google Analytics integrates with Google Tag Manager — Google Analytics is deployed through GTM, enabling event tracking without modifying frontend code.
- DoubleClick Floodlight integrates with Google Tag Manager — Floodlight tags are typically fired through Google Tag Manager, centralizing ad conversion tracking with site analytics triggers.
- HeroUI works alongside Radix UI — HeroUI offers ready-made components while Radix supplies unstyled primitives, balancing development speed with customization.
- HSTS works alongside Netlify — Netlify applications typically include HSTS headers, ensuring browsers always connect securely.
- DoubleClick Floodlight works alongside Linkedin Insight Tag — Floodlight retargeting pairs with LinkedIn Insight Tag to attribute display and social ads across the buyer journey.
- Google Tag Manager integrates with Linkedin Insight Tag — LinkedIn Insight Tag loads via GTM, centralizing B2B ad pixel management with other marketing tags.
- Amazon S3 works alongside AWS Certificate Manager — S3 assets are served over HTTPS using certificates provisioned by AWS Certificate Manager, securing custom domains.

How to fix Chromatic not working
Chromatic is a visual testing and UI review tool. It takes snapshots of components and pages, compares them across browsers, and shows visual changes on pull requests. Developers and designers use it. Find your symptom below. Most problems come from a sign-in, a build or CI step, a Storybook setting, or the platform itself.
Jump to what you are seeing
Website Down
The Chromatic website or review page does not load for you.
- Open the page in a private window and on another network.
- Check status.chromatic.com for an active incident.
- If only your network is affected, ask IT to check the firewall.
Builds Failing
A Chromatic build does not finish, or it stops with an error.
- Open the build log and read the first error.
- Check the project token in your CI settings is current and set for the right project.
- Check the Storybook build runs on its own before the visual test step.
- Re-run the build once after the fix, and send the build link and the time to support if it fails again.
Login Failed
Sign-in is refused. Check you are using the account your team set up, such as single sign-on.
- Use the sign-in route your company set up.
- If the message says the password is wrong, reset it and check spam.
- Ask your administrator to confirm your user has access to the project.
Storybook Not Loading
A published Storybook does not open, or its stories show a blank page.
- Reload the published Storybook in a private window.
- Check the latest build finished and published, since an older build may be showing.
- Check the browser console for the first error on the page.
CLI Errors
The command-line tool fails or reports an error.
- Update the tool to the latest version.
- Run the command again and copy the full error text, not only the last line.
- Check the project token is passed to the command.
UI Review Down
The review workflow for designers and developers does not load, or comments do not save.
- Reload the review page in a private window.
- Check you have access to the project and the branch being reviewed.
- Save a comment, reload the page, and check it stayed. If not, send the review link and the time to support.
API Issues
Calls to the Chromatic API fail or return an error.
- Check the status code. A 401 or 403 means the token or permission is wrong, a 429 means too many calls, and a 5xx means a platform-side problem.
- Confirm the token has not been revoked or changed.
- Retry with a growing delay, and check status.chromatic.com if several calls fail together.
Still not working?
If it still does not work, contact your Chromatic project owner first, since they manage projects and tokens. For a platform-wide problem, contact Chromatic support through the help option in the app or on chromatic.com. Have your project name, the build link, the exact error text from the log, and the time it started with your time zone. Never send project tokens or source code in a support message. Live incident updates are on status.chromatic.com.
Most visual-testing problems come from a build step, a token or a Storybook that has not finished building, and they usually clear once that is corrected. The status page shows live platform incidents, so you can see whether the problem is on Chromatic's side.
