ansarada.com · axway.com · coralogix.com
chromatic.com · mongodb.com · obkio.com
Rough guide, not a measurement: each description is written automatically from the site’s technology stack and the site has not confirmed it. A site is counted once, in the first group its description fits (shop, help and docs, blog, marketing site; otherwise the whole site). Descriptions that only guess (“likely”, “may”) are left out.

Who is behind Intercom
From its own pages and public records, with sources
Its story
2011
Four co-founders started the company in 2011 with the belief that internet business should feel personal. Intercom grew from that idea into a customer communication platform.[6]
2023
Fin, an AI agent for customer service, launched in March 2023 on GPT-4. It answered informational questions from a knowledge base and moved AI from a side feature to the center of the product.[12][6]
2025
A major Fin release widened what the agent could resolve. Fin could work across email, messaging, voice, Slack and Discord and handle more complex, multi-step queries with Procedures.[12]
2026
In May 2026 the company renamed itself Fin, after the AI agent that had become its main product. The Intercom name stayed on the helpdesk.[5][6]
2026
Fin moved to its own purpose-built AI model, Fin Apex, in 2026. The agent grew from a customer service agent to a customer agent for the whole customer journey.[6]
2026
Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin, formerly Intercom, in September 2026. Fin continues inside Salesforce's AI Labs to serve customers and build its AI agent and models.[10][11]
