How to fix Nayax not working
Nayax provides card readers, payment terminals and a management platform for unattended retail, such as vending machines, kiosks, car washes and EV chargers. Operators and their technicians use it. Find your symptom below. Check the machine's own status first, since a device that is offline cannot take payments. Never share card data in a support message.
Jump to what you are seeing
- Payment Failed
- Login Failed
- Website Down
- Device Offline
- Monyx App Error
- Dashboard Error
- API Down
- Transaction Error
Payment Failed
A customer's payment on a machine or terminal is declined or does not complete. A bank decision is the usual reason.
- Ask the customer to try another card or payment method, and to check with their bank if it is declined.
- Check the payment status in the platform, and whether the payment shows as pending.
- Check the machine is online, since a payment can fail when the terminal cannot reach the platform.
- If many payments fail on one machine, note the machine name and the time, and send them to support.
Login Failed
Sign-in to the platform is refused. Operators often have their own user roles, so access can be limited without the password changing.
- If the message says the password is wrong, reset it and check spam for the email.
- Ask your administrator to confirm your user has access to the machines you manage.
- Try a private window to rule out an old session.
Website Down
The Nayax website or management site does not load for you.
- Open the page in a private window and on another network.
- Check status.nayax.com for an active incident.
- If only your network is affected, ask IT to check the firewall.
Device Offline
A terminal or machine shows as offline in the platform. The device may be unpowered, out of signal range, or unable to reach the network.
- Check the device has power and its display or light is on.
- Check its network connection. A device on mobile data may be out of signal.
- Restart the device, then check the platform again after a few minutes.
- If it stays offline, send the device ID and the time to your technician or support.
Monyx App Error
The Monyx app shows an error or does not respond.
- Close the app and open it again, and check the phone or tablet has a connection.
- Update the app to the current version.
- Check the app is linked to the right machine, and that the device is not already in use.
- If the error keeps showing, send the exact message and the time to support.
Dashboard Error
A dashboard screen shows an error, or its figures do not load.
- Reload in a private window with extensions turned off.
- Shorten the date range if the page is slow or blank.
- If one report fails, note its name and the time.
API Down
Calls to the Nayax API fail or time out.
- Check the status code. A 401 or 403 means the key or permission is wrong, a 429 means too many calls, and a 5xx means a platform-side problem.
- Confirm the API key has not been changed or revoked.
- Retry with a growing delay, and do not charge a customer twice when you retry.
- Check status.nayax.com if several calls fail together.
Transaction Error
A transaction record shows an error, is missing, or does not match the machine's count.
- Check the transaction time and device, since a record can be split across two devices.
- Check the record's status. A pending or in-progress transaction is not yet complete.
- Do not correct a record by hand until the operator and support agree which one is right.
Still not working?
If it still does not work, contact your Nayax technician or administrator first, since they manage devices and access. For a platform-wide problem, contact Nayax support through the help option in the platform or on nayax.com. Have your operator name, the device or machine ID, the transaction reference, the exact error text, and the time it started with your time zone. Never send card data in a support message. Live incident updates are on status.nayax.com.
Most unattended-payment problems come from a device that is offline, a network signal or a bank decision, and they usually clear once that is checked. The status page shows live platform incidents, so you can see whether the problem is on Nayax's side.
