How to fix Torq not working
Torq is a security automation platform for security operations teams. It connects to security tools, runs automated workflows, and handles alert triage and case work. Analysts and administrators use it. Find your symptom below. Workflows can take real actions on systems, so check what a workflow will do before you run it again.
Jump to what you are seeing
Website Down
The Torq website or console does not load for you.
- Open the page in a private window and on another network.
- Check status.torq.io for an active incident.
- If only your network is affected, ask IT to check the firewall.
Workflows Not Running
A workflow does not start, stays queued, or stops partway through.
- Check the workflow is switched on and its trigger is set to the right source.
- Read the run log for the step where it stopped, and the error on that step.
- Check the connected tool for that step is online and its login has not expired.
- Check status.torq.io for an incident before you rerun. Rerunning a step that has already acted can repeat its action.
Login Failed
Sign-in is refused. Check you are using your company login, such as single sign-on.
- Use the sign-in route your company set up.
- If the message says the password is wrong, reset it and check spam.
- Ask your administrator to confirm your role allows access to the workflows you need.
API Down
Calls to the Torq API fail or time out.
- Check the status code. A 401 or 403 means the key or permission is wrong, a 429 means too many calls, and a 5xx means a platform-side problem.
- Confirm the API key has not been changed or revoked.
- Retry with a growing delay, and do not trigger the same action twice when you retry.
- Check status.torq.io if several calls fail together.
Integration Issues
A connection to one of the security tools stops sending or receiving data.
- Check the integration is still connected, and that its login or API key has not expired.
- Check the tool's own logs for an error, such as a permission that was removed.
- Test the integration with one non-critical item before relying on it again.
Dashboard Error
A dashboard or case page shows an error or does not load.
- Reload in a private window with extensions turned off.
- Check your role allows the page you are opening.
- If one panel fails, note its name and the time.
Still not working?
If it still does not work, contact your Torq administrator first, since they manage workflows and integrations. For a platform-wide problem, contact Torq support through the help option in the platform or on torq.io. Have your workspace name, the workflow or case ID, the exact error text, and the time it started with your time zone. Never send credentials or secrets in a support message. Live incident updates are on status.torq.io.
Most automation problems come from a trigger, a connection or a permission, and they usually clear once that one item is corrected. The status page shows live platform incidents, so you can see whether the problem is on Torq's side.
