OneLogin down?

OneLogin, part of One Identity, is a cloud identity and access management platform. It gives organisations single sign-on to thousands of applications, multi-factor authentication, user provisioning and deprovisioning, a unified directory that syncs with Active Directory and LDAP, and adaptive, risk-based login policies. OneLogin also supports customer identity use cases and integrates with HR systems to automate joiner, mover and leaver processes. IT and security teams use it to reduce password risk, simplify access for employees and meet compliance requirements.

About OneLogin & Technical Insights

Overview: A cloud-native identity platform with a commercial certificate and CDN edge layer, reflecting a security-conscious, globally distributed SaaS.

What stands out

  • Use of Amazon CloudFront and AWS together indicates a fully AWS-centric architecture with edge caching for authentication services.
  • Sectigo rather than AWS Certificate Manager implies a preference for externally managed certificates, possibly for extended validation or multi-vendor trust.

Technologies onelogin.com uses

  • Sectigo — Provides publicly trusted TLS certificates, assuring enterprise customers that identity and access management traffic is encrypted and verified.
  • Amazon Web Services — Cloud infrastructure hosting the IAM platform's application logic and data.
  • Amazon CloudFront — Global CDN accelerates delivery of login pages and authentication APIs while absorbing DDoS attacks at the edge.

How these technologies work together

  • Amazon CloudFront runs on Amazon Web Services — CloudFront is an AWS edge service, running on Amazon's global network and integrated with AWS origins.
  • Amazon CloudFront integrates with Sectigo — CloudFront endpoints present Sectigo certificates to establish trusted HTTPS sessions for global users.

How to fix OneLogin not working

OneLogin gives your organization single sign-on, a second step of sign-in (multi-factor authentication) and access to its apps. When it fails, the cause is usually your sign-in route, the second-step device, a missing app assignment, or an administrator's policy. Most sign-in problems can be checked with the first steps below. Administrators should start with the admin portal section.

Jump to what you are seeing

Login Failed

Sign-in to an app through OneLogin is refused. It may be your password, your access, or a policy.

  1. Read the exact message. A wrong-password message means you should reset your password. An access message means your administrator must check your app access.
  2. Try a private window to rule out an old session.
  3. If the same app works for colleagues, ask your administrator to check your user's role and app assignment.

Website Down

The OneLogin sign-in page does not load for you. If it does not load, you cannot reach any app through it.

  1. Open the sign-in page in a private window and on another network.
  2. Check status.us.onelogin.com for an active incident.
  3. If it only fails on your company network, ask IT to check the firewall allows the sign-in address.

MFA Issues

The second step of sign-in, such as a code or an approval, fails or does not arrive.

  1. Check the time on your phone is set to automatic. A wrong clock makes codes fail.
  2. Enter the code before it expires, and use the newest code if you asked for a new one.
  3. If the approval request does not arrive, check your phone has a connection and notifications are allowed for the app.
  4. If you have lost the device, ask your administrator to reset your second step.

SSO Error

Single sign-on to an app fails. The app's setup or your organization's identity settings are usually the cause.

  1. Start the sign-in from the OneLogin portal, not from the app's own login page.
  2. Check the app is still assigned to your user in OneLogin.
  3. Clear the site data for the app and the sign-in page, then try again.
  4. If it fails for everyone on one app, ask your administrator to check that app's connection.

Mobile App Down

The OneLogin mobile app does not open, does not show your apps or does not approve sign-ins.

  1. Close the app and open it again, and check your connection.
  2. Update the app from your app store.
  3. Check the app's notification and camera permissions in your phone's settings.
  4. If the app still fails, ask your administrator which backup sign-in method you can use.

Admin Portal Down

The administrator portal does not load, or shows an error.

  1. Reload the portal in a private window with extensions turned off.
  2. Check your admin role allows the section you are opening.
  3. Try another browser. If one section fails, note its name and the time.
  4. If the portal is down for all admins, check the status page and contact support.

API Error

A call to the OneLogin API fails. This can stop provisioning or sign-ins from an integration.

  1. Check the status code. A 401 or 403 means the token or its permission is wrong, a 429 means too many calls, and a 5xx means a platform-side problem.
  2. Confirm the API client has not been changed or disabled.
  3. Retry with a growing delay, and check your integration does not create duplicate users when it retries.

Still not working?

If it still does not work, ask your organization's administrator first, since they control most sign-in settings. For a platform-wide problem, contact OneLogin support through the help option in the admin portal or on onelogin.com. Have your organization name, the app or user affected, the exact error text, and the time it started with your time zone. Never send passwords or one-time codes. Live incident updates are on status.us.onelogin.com.

Most sign-in problems come from a password, a code or an app assignment, and they usually clear once that one item is fixed. The status page shows live platform incidents, so you can see whether the problem is outside your own account.
