How to fix Mintlify not working
Mintlify builds documentation sites for developer products, from Markdown files stored in Git, with search and API references. Technical writers and developers use it. Find your symptom below. Most problems come from a sign-in, a build or deployment, a Git setting, or the platform itself.

Docs Not Loading
A published documentation site does not load for readers.
- Open the docs in a private window and on another network.
- Check status.mintlify.com for an active incident.
- If only one page fails, check that page's file for a formatting error, then rebuild the site.
Dashboard Down
The Mintlify dashboard does not load, or it shows an error.
- Reload in a private window with extensions turned off.
- Check your role allows the project you are opening.
- If one panel fails, note its name and the time.
Deployment Failed
A documentation update does not publish.
- Read the deployment log for the first error. It usually names the file or the setting that failed.
- Check the configuration file is valid, such as a missing bracket or a wrong page path.
- Check the Git repository is connected and the branch to deploy is the one you chose.
- Deploy once more after the fix, and send the deployment ID and the time to support if it fails again.
API Down
Calls to the Mintlify API fail or time out.
- Check the status code. A 401 or 403 means the key or permission is wrong, a 429 means too many calls, and a 5xx means a platform-side problem.
- Confirm the key has not been changed or revoked.
- Retry with a growing delay, and check status.mintlify.com if several calls fail together.
Search Not Working
The search on the docs site returns no results, or it returns old pages.
- Check the page was included in the last deployment, since unpublished pages are not searchable.
- Wait for the search index to update after a deployment.
- Test a search for a title you know is published.
CLI Error
The command-line tool fails or reports an error.
- Update the tool to the latest version.
- Check you are in the folder that holds the documentation project.
- Run the command again and copy the full error text, not only the last line.
Login Failed
Sign-in to Mintlify is refused. Check you are using the sign-in method your team set up.
- Use the sign-in route your team set up, such as a Git provider login.
- If the message says the password is wrong, reset it and check spam.
- Ask your team owner to confirm your access to the project.
Analytics Down
Analytics for the docs site do not show, or they look out of date.
- Check the date range and the site selected.
- Allow time for new visits to appear in the analytics.
- Check the analytics setting is switched on for the site.
Still not working?
If it still does not work, contact your team owner first, since they manage projects and access. For a platform-wide problem, contact Mintlify support through the help option in the dashboard or on mintlify.com. Have your project name, the deployment ID, the exact error text, and the time it started with your time zone. Never send access tokens or private repository content in a support message. Live incident updates are on status.mintlify.com.
Most documentation-site problems come from a configuration typo, a deployment that has not finished or a repository setting, and they usually clear once that one item is corrected. The status page shows live platform incidents, so you can see whether the problem is on Mintlify's side.
