About Latitude & Technical Insights

Overview: A polished Vercel-hosted frontend for a bare metal cloud, using Tailwind and Radix/shadcn for accessible custom UI, Contentful for content, with Vercel analytics baked in.
What stands out
- The site relies heavily on the Vercel ecosystem for hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring, indicating a modern, frontend-focused team.
- Contentful decouples marketing content from the core cloud platform code, enabling rapid non-technical publishing.
- Tailwind, Radix, and shadcn/ui form a flexible, accessible UI stack typical of developer-focused SaaS, balancing speed and design control.
- Despite being a bare metal infrastructure company, the web presence uses entirely managed frontend services, contrasting with its raw infrastructure product.
Technologies latitude.sh uses
- Contentful — Manages marketing, blog, and documentation content independently from code so non-engineers can publish updates to the cloud platform site.
- shadcn/ui — Delivers polished, accessible UI components built on Radix and Tailwind, letting the team own code and ship a professional console faster.
- Tailwind CSS — Enables rapid, consistent UI styling for marketing pages and console components without leaving HTML, reflecting an engineering team that values speed.
- Vercel — Hosts the frontend with global CDN and serverless functions, aligning with the company's global bare metal cloud audience and fast delivery.
- Radix UI — Provides accessible, unstyled interactive primitives for building custom dashboard controls, ensuring usability for developers managing servers and AI workloads.
- Vercel Speed Insights — Monitors real-user Core Web Vitals to ensure the marketing and console experience remains fast for a technical audience.
- Vercel Analytics — Tracks visitor behavior and traffic sources on the public website to inform growth and content decisions for the bare metal cloud service.
- HSTS — Forces secure HTTPS connections, a standard security baseline for a cloud infrastructure provider.
How these technologies work together
- shadcn/ui requires Tailwind CSS — shadcn/ui components are built with Tailwind CSS utility classes, so Tailwind is required to render their styles.
- Radix UI requires shadcn/ui — shadcn/ui wraps Radix UI primitives for accessible, interactive behavior, making Radix essential to its component implementations.
- Vercel runs on Vercel Speed Insights — Vercel Speed Insights is a Vercel platform feature that reports Core Web Vitals for the deployed frontend.
- Vercel runs on Vercel Analytics — Vercel Analytics runs on Vercel's platform, providing automatic privacy-friendly insights for the site hosted there.
- Contentful integrates with Vercel — Contentful content is fetched by the Vercel-hosted frontend and webhooks trigger redeploys when editors publish updates.
- Vercel Analytics works alongside Vercel Speed Insights — Together they give both traffic analytics and performance metrics, covering business and technical health of the web presence.

How to fix Latitude not working
Latitude.sh provides bare metal servers, which are dedicated physical machines, deployed on demand in data centres around the world. Servers are set up through the dashboard, the API or Terraform, and the service includes GPU instances and private networking. Find your symptom below. Most problems come from a server that is still starting, a network or firewall rule, a sign-in or key, or the platform itself. Check the status page before you rebuild a server.

- API Down
- Server Connectivity

- Network Latency
- SSH Connection
- Payment Issues
Dashboard Down
The dashboard does not load, or it shows no servers.
- Reload in a private window, and check you are in the right project.
- Check status.latitude.sh for an incident.
- If your servers are still running, check them through the API or your own tools until the dashboard is back.
API Down
Calls to the Latitude.sh API fail or time out.
- Check the status code. An access error usually means the key is wrong, too many calls means you should slow down, and a server error means a service-side problem.
- Confirm the key has not been revoked and is for the right project.
- Retry with a growing delay, and check status.latitude.sh if several calls fail together.
Server Connectivity
A server does not respond to ping or to its services.
- Check the server's status in the dashboard, and whether it is still provisioning.
- Check your firewall or security group rules have not changed recently.
- Check status.latitude.sh, then contact support with the server name and the time.
Provisioning Failed
A new server does not finish setting up, or it shows an error.
- Check the plan, region and operating system you chose are available in that data centre.
- Try another region or plan, if your team allows it.
- Check status.latitude.sh for a capacity incident, then contact support with the request ID and the time.
Network Latency
The server is slow to respond, or connections drop from time to time.
- Test from a second location, to see whether the problem is one route or the whole server.
- Check your firewall and any DDoS protection rules on the server.
- Check status.latitude.sh, and report the server name, the test locations and the times.
SSH Connection
You cannot connect to the server over SSH.
- Check the server address, username and key match the server's set-up.
- Check the key file's permissions on your computer, and that the key has not been replaced.
- Check the server's firewall allows SSH from your network, then try again.
Payment Issues
A server order or invoice payment does not complete.
- Check the payment method is valid, and that its billing details match the account.
- Check the order status before you try again, so you do not pay twice.
- Contact billing support with the order reference and the time. Never send card details in a message.
Still not working?
Contact your Latitude.sh administrator or account contact first, since they manage projects, billing and access. For a platform-wide problem, contact Latitude.sh support through the help option in the dashboard or on its website. Have your project name, the server or request ID, the exact error text, and the time with your time zone. Never send private keys, passwords or API tokens in a support message. Live incident updates are on status.latitude.sh.
Most server-hosting problems come from a server that is still starting, a firewall rule or a key, and they usually clear once that is checked. The status page shows live incidents, so you can see whether the problem is on Latitude.sh's side.
