How to fix MeridianLink not working

MeridianLink One runs digital lending for banks and credit unions, so a fault can hold up loan applications for staff and members. Problems usually come from your sign-in, a slow or blocked connection, a report or upload, or the platform itself. Find your symptom below and work down its list.

Jump to what you are seeing

Website Down

The MeridianLink site or a lending screen does not load for you. This is usually your network or firewall, or a short platform incident.

  1. Open the page in a private window and on a second network. If it loads on the other network, your office firewall or proxy is the cause.
  2. Check status.meridianlink.com for an active incident.
  3. If your whole branch is affected, ask your IT team to check that the platform's addresses are not blocked.

Login Failed

Staff or member sign-in is refused. Lenders often use their own identity setup, so access rules in your institution can be the reason.

  1. Read the exact message. A wrong-password message means you should reset your password. A message about access means your administrator must check your user rights.
  2. If your institution uses single sign-on, sign in through that route rather than a separate password.
  3. Ask your administrator to confirm your user is active and has the right role on the platform.

Slow Performance

Screens, searches or applications take a long time to load. Large loan files, many open tabs and a busy network are the usual reasons.

  1. Close other tabs and reload the page.
  2. Check whether the slowness is on one screen or everywhere. One slow screen usually means a heavy report or search.
  3. Try a narrower search or a shorter date range.
  4. If it is slow for everyone at the same time, check the status page and note the time for your administrator.

API Error

A call from your system to the MeridianLink API returns an error code.

  1. A 401 or 403 means the credentials or permissions are wrong. Check the token has not expired and that its user has the access it needs.
  2. A 429 means too many calls. Wait, then retry with a growing delay.
  3. A 5xx means a problem on the service side. Check the status page before changing your integration.
  4. Write down the status code, the endpoint and the time, and send them to your MeridianLink contact.

Portal Down

The borrower or partner portal is unavailable, or applicants see an error page.

  1. Try the portal from a different device or network to see whether the problem is on your side.
  2. Check the status page for a portal incident.
  3. If applicants cannot reach the portal, let your branch know so they can be helped another way until it is back.

Document Upload Error

A file such as a pay stub or bank statement does not upload. The usual reasons are the file type, the file size or a network timeout.

  1. Check the file type is one the portal accepts, and that the file is not too large. Try a smaller PDF.
  2. Retry on a stable connection. A timeout on a large file often needs a faster connection.
  3. Some systems reject file names with unusual characters. Rename the file with plain letters and numbers, then try again.

Report Generation Failed

A report stops before it finishes. A very wide date range or a very large set of records is the usual reason.

  1. Run the report for a shorter date range, then widen it step by step to find the limit.
  2. Remove filters you do not need, since a wide filter can time out.
  3. Run large reports at a quieter time of day.
  4. If a smaller run also fails, send the report name and date range to your MeridianLink contact.

Still not working?

If it still does not work, contact MeridianLink support through the help option in the platform or on meridianlink.com. Have your institution name, the screen or report name, the exact error text, the time it started with your time zone, and a loan or application reference if one applies. Live incident updates are on status.meridianlink.com.

Most lending-platform problems clear with a reload, a different browser or a sign-in reset. This page shows the live status, so you can see when the platform reports an issue and when it is closed.
